On May 7, 2018, UCAM Sports University’s master program, MsC in High Performance Sports: Strength & Conditioning was notified by the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) that it has met the criteria as an approved NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) for three more years.  The NSCA is an international organization that offers certifications for qualified strength and conditioning coaches, trainers, educators, and professionals. Being a NSCA ERP shows the strength and quality of the High Performance Sports master’s program here at UCAM. In line with the NSCA’s philosophy, UCAM is constantly striving to create the best program for its students.

Some of the benefits that the ERP offers schools and students attending an NSCA Recognized School are the following:

• Premier Access to NSCA Growth Opportunities

   - NSCA Foundation Grants and Scholarships

   - NSCA Internship Program

   - NSCA Assistantship Program

During the program year, subjects covered in the Master’s in High Performance Sport include the following: scientific principles of strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, biomechanics and movement analysis, sports nutrition, and much more.  Completing this program allows the student to leave UCAM prepared to work in various areas of strength and conditioning including assessment and control training, biomechanics applied to health, fitness and sports training, physical preparation, and personal training.

UCAM has two research centres in High Performance Sport on campus and at La Manga Club, where students are able use to put into practice the content they learn throughout the program. These research centres have assisted 80 UCAM Olympic athletes, among them Mireia Belmonte (Olympic Swimming Medalist), Miguel Angel Lopez (athlete), Mario Mola (triathlete), as well as the UCAM Murcia Basketball Club (ACB) and UCAM Murcia Football Club (Second Division B) with their preparation, training and enhancement in their athletic performance.

This program also has the pleasure of welcoming some of the best professors in the field of high performance from around the world. Some of the most notable professors are Iñigo Mujica, PhD who is the Former Director of Research and Development of Athletic Club de Bilbao and former physiologist of Spanish Swimmer Federation. Per Aagaard, PhD, Professor at the University of Southern Denmark and renowned physiologist and biomechanist in the area of neuromuscular and biomechanical adaptations induced by training and detraining.  As well as Jens Bangsbo, PhD, Professor at the University of Copenhagen.
